With the vision of developing and
promoting the work of talented artists whose
work merits exposure to a wider audience, our gallery
partner fill-your-walls is presenting its inaugural
Alfresco Art Fair this October.
A celebration of the creative expressions of 10 of
Singapore’s most promising emerging artists, the
Alfresco Art Fair is aimed at raising the awareness and
appeal of good quality, affordable and original work by
local artists, who will benefit from the opportunity to bring
their work on to the public arena.
As an event that will appeal to residents and tourists, the
inaugural Alfresco Art Fair is being planned for 30
October to 1 November 2009, as a weekend event.
To deepen the community interest in the appreciation
and enjoyment of art, the public will get a chance to be
part of the whole art creation process. The Alfresco Art
Fair will focus on offering the public an appreciation of
fine art with knowledge booths, children’s interactive
workshops, activities for both adults and children that
immerse the public in the life of an artist, sharing
experiences of the ‘art of collecting’, as well as
purchasing quality, original and affordable art from the
exhibition.
The whole focus of the Alfresco Art Fair will be to highlight
the appeal and accessibility of art across different activity
and interest levels.
fill-your-walls believes that a sustainable Alfresco Art Fair
will be key to promoting the interest and appreciation of
emerging visual art among the community here in
Singapore. As such, the intention is to make the Alfresco
Art Fair a regular affair on the Singapore’s events
calendar, and to take it on tour to different high traffic
public venues across the island.

Centre organised by National Arts Council.
Held on 12 and 13 Sep (Sat and Sun), the
programme offers the public a chance to
learn from various arts groups about
diverse art forms from charcoal drawing
and watercolour painting to glass
engraving, Chinese calligraphy to rangoli.
Artist volunteers required for the event.
