"Coming to my art space gives me something to look forward to every week.  Having a special time and place
to share with other art enthusiasts certainly makes the experience worthwhile.  Chankerk and his colleagues
are very generous in sharing their talent and input.  Chankerk encourages us to explore our abilities to better
express our take on things through art."
Arlyn De Jesus, Filipino

"My Art Space is a wonderful studio located in the Bohemian bustling Pagoda Street of Chinatown.
It is an Art school for free thinkers, a studio for those wishing to become artists, and a platform for many fine
artists to come together.
In my experience as a student at Chankerk's  studio,  I have come to know people of various nationalities and
cultural beliefs and we all come  together as friends united by our passion for art and without prejudice and
without pride.
In fact our school and our teachers are creative and humble people who guide us and encourage us to
express our points of view and challenge us to reach our best abilities.
My Art Space  is more than just a little school where people come together to enjoy, appreciate and share their
ideas and knowledge in Art;  It is a creative inspirational meeting place for people who wish to study art forms
and mediums, encouraged by teachers who support  their students individualism & creativity."
Polytimi H. Galatis, Australian

"To paint is a challenge. As I am a beginner the learning process is slow and often a bit stressful to me.
Therefore I greatly appreciate:  the patient teaching method, which provides me with sufficient advices on
techniques,  the freedom of choice of mediums, which enables me to explore what style I prefer. I feel very
much that, the interest in the individual you show helps to understand the creativity of the artist. I benefit from
the instructive talks and demonstrative drawings at the canvas too.  The library is a good source of information
and works stimulating on what can be achieved.
The activities organized outside class like, exhibition/competition, painting holiday and newsletter are
reflecting the enthusiasm of our teachers and brings out a lively atmosphere. I would love to see the plein air
painting to be stepped up more frequent. From me a 9 out of 10!!"
Pauline Polder, Dutch

"I used to paint when I was young then I stopped because studies and work created a hectic schedule.
When I was to stay in singapore for a year, I decided to brush up and go back to painting.
I searched the internet and came across the website of My Art Space... I enrolled and enjoyed my learning
under the tutelage of chankerk.
He is very accomodating and teaches you the basic principles. He understands you as a person, your
human nature thus he does not dictate or manipulate your talent to express yourself in your work. I attended
sessions for the whole year and I learned different techniques, learned how to handle different media
and most of all, I had fun and loved what I was doing.
Art expresses or embodies the awareness of the artist, the experience of the artist, his experience of life
as a whole, his experience of himself, of other people, even of reality. As an artist, I believe art can lead to
respect, admiration, and other great things such as making a difference, touching one’s life, making
someone smile and most importantly, making everyone see that everything around us no matter how simple
it may be, is beautiful if only we could just have time to stop for a while and appreciate it. "
Christine Therese Santos, Doctor, Filipino

his experiences whilst at the same time allowing growth, flexibility, and encouraging diversity, in the student's
development so as to find his or her niche."

"Painting is a self-discovery process, one of the many new perspectives on art that I am gaining from the
sessions. We are taught not only to have the hands of an artist, but also the eyes to appreciate colours, an
open mind to explore the unknown and the heart to enjoy the process."
Vincent, Engineer

"...constantly urges you to think like an artist. You acquire from sessions not just the techniques of applying
paint to canvas but to do so with feeling. As a result, you see a piece of yourself on the canvas."

a novice learner but build his or her confidence instead…"
