Viv

Viv ,an English psychologist who had a career in social work specializing in the care of
disturbed children. Viv has always had a real interest in art and for many years have felt
that she want to learn to paint. She explored the possibility more seriously when she
took up oil painting in Singapore about one and a half year ago.

Viv is a great fan of contemporary art but draws her inspiration from the impressionist
and post impressionist artists. She is particularly taken with the work of Georgette
Chen, a pioneer of Singaporean art and a fascinating woman. Viv paints intuitively with
bold strokes and bright colors. One of her interest is portrait painting. She is
continually intrigued by the human face and the emotional connection she can make
with that person. Viv enjoys painting different nationalities and different ages to reflect
the diverse melting pot that is her experience of life in Singapore.

Recently she starts developing her latest themes of local Chinese customary series.
She wishes to further explore the creative arrangement of the realistic images into an
abstract and contemporary look painting with bright colors.
