Joanna Chen is an undergraduate studying marketing. She is enjoying the fun of art
making while letting her imagination runs during the creating process., She took up a 3
months course at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts a few years ago to learn painting and
has never stopped painting since then.

Joanna prefers to use oil and acrylic. Her inspiration comes mainly from clothing in
fashion magazine. Since she adores patterns thus would create her paintings by
adding patterns on to it and turn them to a pieces of fabric-like paintings. She would
also do serious readings on patterns and textile so as to further explore the
uniqueness of the two dimensional patterns.
In order to further improve her current standard, Jaonna is now trying to broaden her
knowledge through studying of art history and different culture. She is considering to
study textile design course and work in this industry in future.
