Liz is working as a Graphic designer and has started doing art back in school since
2000 when she was a student of local Ceramist and Sculptor, Iskandar for a year.
During that period, beside experimenting with many mediums such as charcoal,
watercolours, clay, paper making and batik dyes. Liz began to start thinking more in-
depth when Iskandar challenges his students with many assignments that require
deep thinking process, art aesthetics and development of concepts. She is now
working with oil that renewed her understanding of many art fundamentals.
Liz realised essence of mystery in the psychology and spirituality of humans, animals
and objects in artworks of Francesco Clemente, Van Gogh, Nick Bantock and Sowa as
they influence her in a way or another. In Liz's art, she believes it is important to reflect
upon what she sees, reads or hears from life experiences and thing’s happening
around the world politically.
Liz is trying hard now to search for a clear direction of finding her own style. She
foresees there are indefinite number of possibilities where art can lead her to and there’
are still many genres she has yet to discover. Her ultimate aim is to see that her
paintings always remain true - a reflection of what she feel and believe in. She will be
very satisfied if her paintings ever influence others. Such as if people see themselves in
the paintings, find answers or discover something they’ve never known nor realized.
